Small Group Multiplication

This is part one of a series on small group multiplication.
In leading a small group, one of the goals that we encourage our leaders to move toward is the idea of multiplying their small group.  We feel that it is God's call to us to bear much fruit, this is why when we see a healthy small group form, grow, and produce "fruit."  We like the group to multiply so that more "fruit" can reach more people.
In our church, we have a BIG goal for small groups.  We want 110% of the people in our church to be in small groups.  Why 110%?  Because we long to see more people in small groups than at our weekend services.
How are we doing?  Well....we are not quite there.  :/ And in order to reach our goal of 110% of people in small groups we need MORE groups. We need to be constantly increasing the number of small groups we have in order to reach more people, in more life stages, in more places.

How do you multiply?
Our church runs on a 3 trimester a year system (Sept-Dec), (Feb-April), and (June-July).  At the semester break is an easy time to multiply groups.   In order to multiply a group at the trimester the leader must decide BEFORE the trimester has concluded in order to announce the change of plans to the small group.

There are various ways in which to multiply your small group.
1. 2 Groups form
2. "birthing" a new group
3. Small Group Planting
4. A shotgun approach - many groups form

More on each of these methods to come.........
